Textile Artist and Illustrator Josie Firmin Joins our Challenge!


We are delighted to announce that textile artist and illustrator Josie Firmin will be judging your illustration entries to our Challenge.


What Is a Friend

Josie began her career colouring comics for Marvel where she worked on the cult series Transformers.  She also spent seven years as ghost illustrator for David Mckee’s King Rollo comic strip.  Josie is the author and illustrator of unique origami style picture books such as “My World” and “What is a Friend”, published by Walker Books.

Josie is best known for her captivating illustrative pottery. She opened her bespoke china painting business, Cosmo China, in 1986. Josie’s cats collection has had an international following for the last 28 years…

The-Clangers-on-the-moob BagPuss

It is hardly surprising Josie is such a creative talent as she is the daughter of Peter Firmin who created classic children’s television programmess like Bagpuss and The Clangers. Her Mum even knitted the famous Clangers!
