The votes have been counted and the winning name chosen, we are very excited to introduce Stanleytross! A simply perfect name thought up by Lindsey Dawe. The giant recycled sculpture was made by Stanley Primary in Teddington as part of a whole school project. Every child from nursery up contributed at least one plastic feather to this amazing sculpture. Stanleytross will join all the other wonderful recycled plastic sea creatures in our festival art trail on May 5th at Orleans House Gallery.
Along the trail visitors will be able to trigger the poignant poem ‘Dear Albatross’ by generating pedal power. The poem is read by fifteen pupils from Stanley school. We would like to say a big thank you to: Edie Proud, Solomon Smith, Lola Doyle, Robyn Ransom, Sadiqur Rahman, Ted Reardon, Snow Cavien, Nathan Fensham, Hanna Manseur, Deborah Oyewole, Kaiden Greening, Christina Lin, Destine Mulumba, Arne King-Smith and Archie Drummond.
Have a listen to them in action: Dear Albatross
