The Barnes Primary Turtle

EcoTales worked with Barnes Primary reception during their arts week to create a fabulous recycled plastic turtle for their play ground. Barnes Primary have kindly agreed to lend their new turtle friend to us for our festival art trail in May. The purpose of the trail is to show the affects of plastic pollution on marine life. An alarming number of turtles have been found stuck in plastic ring can holders. Once they are trapped the durable plastic doesn’t break, instead it causes the turtles shell to grow in a figure of eight. Turtles also ingest plastic bags thinking they are jellyfish…
